Who we are
COPN Atlas is a sole proprietorship run by Blake Long in Alexandria, Virginia. In this policy, "we" means COPN Atlas. Contact: blake@copnatlas.com or Blake Long, COPN Atlas, 2827 Telek Pl, Alexandria, VA 22314.
What we collect
- What you send us. Email messages, and what you enter on the reservation form: your name, organization, role, email address and any phone number or note you add.
- Customer records. If you subscribe: who receives the file, invoices, payment status and the correspondence about your subscription. We do not take card numbers; payment is by check or ACH.
- Site visits. Our host, Cloudflare, receives your IP address, browser type and the pages requested so it can deliver and protect the site. We use Cloudflare Web Analytics to count page views; it reports totals such as visits, referring sites, browser and country. We set no cookies of our own and use no advertising cookies.
- Public business contact details. To tell professionals who work on certificate of need matters about COPN Atlas, we compile names, titles, employers and published business email addresses and phone numbers from public sources, such as state agency filings and firm websites.
- Phone calls. If we speak by phone, we keep notes of the conversation. We record or transcribe a call only after telling you at the start of the call, and we stop if you object.
How we use it
To answer you, send samples, confirm reservations, deliver the file and monthly updates, send invoices and keep tax records; to contact professionals about COPN Atlas; to fix and improve the site and the file; and to meet legal obligations.
Who we share it with
We do not sell personal information and do not share it for targeted advertising. We share it only with the service providers that run the business, under their own privacy terms: Google (Workspace email and Google Forms, which hosts the reservation form), Cloudflare (site hosting and analytics), Anthropic (the Claude AI assistant, which helps compile the data, draft replies and organize correspondence) and Granola (call notes, when a call is recorded or transcribed with your consent). The site's fonts are served from our own domain, so no font provider receives your visit. We may disclose information when the law requires it, or to protect our rights in a dispute.
Information in the COPN file
The file is compiled from public records published by state health agencies. It names applicants and facilities, and can name people who appear in those records, such as an applicant's representative. If you think a row about you is wrong, email us and we will check it against the state's documents and correct it in the next monthly file.
Your choices
Every outreach email tells you how to opt out; reply "no thanks" or "unsubscribe" and we stop within 10 business days. You can ask us to tell you what we hold about you, correct it or delete it by emailing blake@copnatlas.com. We answer within 45 days. We may keep what tax, accounting or legal rules require us to keep, and we keep your opt-out so we do not contact you again.
How long we keep it
Correspondence and prospect details: until you ask us to delete them or we stop using them. Customer and invoice records: as long as tax and accounting rules require.
Do Not Track
We do not track visitors across other websites, and we do not allow third parties to collect information about your activity across other websites through ours. Because of that, our site works the same whether or not your browser sends a Do Not Track signal.
Security
We use reasonable safeguards to protect what we hold. No system is perfectly secure, so please do not send sensitive personal information by email.
Children
COPN Atlas is a business service. It is not directed to children and we do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 16.
